The National Alliance of Black School Educators and MMABSE affirm the inherent worth, dignity, and educability of African American people. MMABSE challenges the forces that obstruct youth and adults’ achievement, development, and educational opportunities.

In Wisconsin and surrounding states, African American children encounter problems directly related to their minority group status. It is the mission of MMABSE to enhance and facilitate their education.

African American educators and others directly involved in the educational process must develop the necessary structures to meet, share ideas and focus sharply on the unique problems they and their students face. MMABSE analyzes and applies shared knowledge to eradicate the issues that obstruct quality education for all children, particularly children of African descent.

MMABSE also celebrates the surrounding community and its members by providing services that support student success through scholarships and other academic endeavors. Educators and parents exchange ideas and strategies to improve opportunities for African American students and educators.

General membership meetings, held during September, November, January, March, and May, ensure members are engaged in supporting our mission. The MMABSE Impact, available to all MMABSE members, is the official newsletter published during each year.

The Metropolitan Milwaukee Alliance of Black School Educators, Inc. is composed of commissions, each organized for the purpose of affording meaningful dialogue and participation of members in order to enhance the attainment of the purpose and functions of the Alliance. MMABSE needs active support from its membership in order to carry the organization forward.
